Want to Buy - Tercel Wagon 4x4 4wd - Seattle, WA

Post by mattsmith »

Hi,

New to the forum, but I've decided to get a 4x4 wagon since my current truck causes me more grief than it's worth.

Anyone in the Seattle area know of one for sale? I'm hitting craigslist of course, but people there are flakes or have already sold.

Also if you're on cragslist seattle and see this ad: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/wan/2085933999.html
That's me too.

Please let me know if you have something or know of something for sale.

Thanks,
Matt

i would check out the classifieds on this board, the member Barto is selling a killer ride and while I have not met the guy, his reputation lends itself to me thinking he's a pretty darn decent human being. He's up in BC but the price seems right and its one hell of a custom!

I've scoured the ads here of course. All the craigslist ads seem have expired though. I did see Barto's car. I'd prefer a more stock car and I'm not sure how the process works importing from Canada. I don't think the car is old enough from the research I've done in the past. 30+ years seems to be the magic number.

importing a car from canada is no big deal IF the car was sold here in the states and the Canadian version meets the same safety standards as the US version. While I dont know 100% about the Tercel, its been my experience, MOST Toyotas sold in Canada are 100% legal to bring to the states regardless of year. The one notable exception being the Vitz N/A and turbo versions as they were never sold here.

Well, I got one! It's an '86 white, manual trans with AC. Ford Escort 14" wheels. It's pretty much all there but maybe needs a good cleaning and a battery tie down. Really fun to drive around. First thing is to get the paperwork in order. Then I'll go this list:

Also came with a few boxes of parts. Tail lights, air cleaner, ect. Not sure if anyone even wants more of that kind of stuff but maybe.

Just wanted to share.

In lieu of me getting the car somewhere not raining and taking pictures this weekend, I'll just post the pictures the seller sent me before I went to look at it.http://imgur.com/a/dlwrK

Nice - looks like no rust! If that's a dirty interior...
It always surprises me how the later headlight setup integrates the front end - like that is what it was always supposed to look like.
