But it doesn't have a rear wiper....does that mean it's a DX model?

The thinner side mouldings give it away as a Deluxe model. I have an SR5 that lacks the rear window wiper and my dad's old 83 SR5 also lacked the rear wiper. At least in the early models, not all came with the rear window wiper, but all the 85 and newer cars I've seen - whether they be Deluxe or SR5 have the rear wiper.

My '86 Dealer Brochure shows the rear wiper as standard on only the SR5s and optional on all others - but not available at all on the base 3-door. My new '83 had it, but it was an SR5, and do not recall if it was standard or optional. I think the former was true, as I got an SR5 with no options - it even had the base radio, which in itself was a bonanza, compared to the Marconi set in the '69 Bus.

I guess you are lucky to have owned all of those that did. It comes in handy when it's snowing, but I haven't taken any of my cars without the rear wiper in the snow, so don't know how it piles onto the window, yet. I have an '83 DLX that also doesn't have the wiper, however, I have gotten used to having it, so it feels awkward to press that plastic with no switch .

Oh and another thing... that car isn't an '85, it looks like an '83 or '84, but I'm betting it's probably an '83. Looks pretty clean though, I wish cars in comparable cosmetic shape would show up around here.
