just bought one

Post by warbstrd »

Craigslist in Durham, Nc., had one listed for $3000.00. Its not an SR5 though. Car was actually in Graham, NC. Elderly couple bought it new in '84 and only averaged 3000 miles a year on it. This guy bought it 2 years ago with 60000 miles. He put 30,000 more on it in 2 years. I bought it with 90,458 original miles. There is not a speck of rust on it and I mean nowhere, automatic (im old i need an auto) 4wd (of course) in pristine condition....I didnt even test drive it, paid the man and loaded it on a u-haul auto transport and drove back to Va. (about 4 hours away), and my little S10 did great towing too...He had to sell it because His wife couldnt drive it anymore due to a sciotic(sp) nerve problem. OH, there is only one problem with it - the a/c compressor is fried so he cut the belt.. after washing it she looks brand new....unbelievable condition. I still have my other tercel by the way with the weber carb.....I need to put an engine in that one and fix it up....I have 8 years to due it, my daughter is 8 now...and that on will be her car.

Thanks, i have been lurking every now and then...and have been waiting 4 a good buy....3000 may seem a lot for a 24 year old car, but if you saw it in person it was a good buy....here are the pictures from my phone, so maybe tomorrow ill post some from my wifes camera...

Couldn't you have gotten a better deal because of the rust?
WOW ! Automatic or not - DLX or not - what a keeper! U R Lukki !
Is the sticker below the "4WD" emblem an employee parking-lot sticker or is it an homage to Alan Turing?

Is that a spot of rust right above the tail light? You're lucky to find any decent car with under 100K miles for less than 3K anymore...let alone 4WD?
