Carb Spacer / Primary Intake Heater

Post by coltarms »

While doing all that work on the Badd Turkle this weekend, I found that the wires going to PCV spacer plate/heater that sits under the carb were broken. I am guessing that this is a heater of some kind to help with fuel/air mixing. Anyone know how important this is for mileage? Takza? I'm guessing JY for a new one. Would anyone know if a 4A would fit?

Think it just runs during warmup. Probably also helps mpg as a carb spacer.

Yeah, finally found it in the FSM, under auxilliary emissions systems. The correct nomenclature is the Cold Mixture Heater, or CMH, and it does only turn on when the engine is cold. The rest of the time it is off. Thanks anyway Takza!
