The body work is done!

Post by Kozuto_98 »

Just shy of 5 months into this project I finally have the bodywork done, kind of!
I was on a bit of a time crunch before the seasons changed so I had to rush a couple things, but I'll come back to it later.

I swapped the grille and headlights out for the older style, and I have put new shocks and springs in the front and back!
I've been driving it around "sudo legally" right now to give the car a shake down before I do the rest of the mechanical work.
From that I've noticed the front cv axles will need to be replaced, pretty much every bushing is trashed, and the transmission mount has disintegrated.

Also, I have some electrical gremlins to sort out as the heater blower motor and main dome light just refuse to work.

The AE86 springs in the back have been working good, but they make the back sit a little lower. The AE82 springs in the front work great though!
I also put in fresh balls joints with grease fittings for a little peace of mind.

Looking pretty darn good, there :!: Nice work.
No other vehicle that I have ever owned had a heart and soul like my 1985 Tercel SR5 4WD Wagon. :D
