I know that this one is an oldie for those who know, but
<a href='http://www.toyota-hawaii.com/section_1_ ... ealer_id=1' target='_blank'>200,000+ Toyotas</a>

Look in the top left hand corner when you click the link. For us driving around on this rock we call Hawaii, any car over 100k-150k miles is usually considered high mileage. How may miles do you you have on your Tercel(s)? I hit 100k a little while ago. I was just wondering. How far have you stretched your mileage. I wouldn't mind getting benchmark on how long these bulletproof cars last.

mine just passed 160k, so it's at 160,618 miles right now.

That's cool that you live in hawaii, my brother has a car that somebody shipped over from maui a while ago, they liked the car so much.

390,000kms (242,000miles) on mine.

I think someone here might have had over 500,000miles, but I can't remember for sure.

Just about to roll over 159K miles on my daily driver ( '85 SR5). Have another with the transmission out with 171K ('86 Dlx.) , and another parts car that still runs and drives with 192K on it ('84 Dlx.) .
1984 Tercel 4wd Dlx. - 192K miles.
1985 Tercel 4wd SR5 - 185K miles (not running)
1986 Tercel 4wd Dlx - 210K miles (dd)

Only 3 to go for the whole set ! lol

I think Hornbeam has about 114k miles. :D
It probably hasn't been registered for at least 10 years.

Also, how do you do 80 on a freeway? When I get to around 73, I start getting this horrible body shake and wobble, and if I were to ever hit 80, I'd lose control entirely.

My 85 2 door (daily driver) has 191,000 and a cylinder with low compression. My 87 4 wd wagon only has 139,000, but just found out that the automatic tranny needs a rebuild. Happy days!!!

Hey, I had the same problem ctish! I remember driving on the Big Island(straight roads with old lava flow fields=no development, no police ). I'd accelerate past about 60mph, and between 70-73mph or so, the whole car would shake fairly violently, then it would stop shaking if i'd go any faster or slower than that speed range. I wouldn't go any faster then 80mph, being that the maximum speed listed for this car was 83mph. I noticed that it was due to an unbalanced tire. I dunno, maybe a possible solution would be to balance tires( it was for me)?

87 w/ the auto tranny needs a rebuild.... Hmmm, I have the 3 speed auto @ about 100,xxx now. No way, needs to be serviced already? Thats reminds me of another question, being that I have an Automatic. I don't remember the Automatic having any overdrive, (is there one??? :? ).

Yeah, it was balanced in the fall, but then some dumbasses stole it and tossed it off a cliff, so I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to do another balancing.

I had my front wheels balanced, and one of the ball joints replaced. Steady as a rock through 85- the fastest my speedo reads. and I've been a little faster than that. I need a faster speedometer...

The speedo from an SR5 plugs right in and will give you a tachometer plus 110mph speedo.

I have an SR5, but since it's an '83 it only reads to 85 mph.
