Lower kms the better. I'm in BC, would prefer to come and pick it up, I image shipping for such a part would be... costly.

Seriously though, does anyone have one or know of where I could get one? All the pick n pulls within a 200 mile radius are fresh out of 80's model tercels.

Pick-a-part in Chilliwack has an '86 2-door - still had the engine in it when I was there in October to grab the two front fenders http://www.pickapart.ca/

Thank you! Any leads help.

I don't suppose you recall how about many kilometres were on the car?

Sorry, never looked as I was there only for the fenders. I still have the block and head from my '86 parts car if you're ever in the Vancouver area and want to have it. Last time the parts car ran was about 12 years ago when I drove it home from Vancouver. The only engine problem I noticed at the time was a bad rod knock.

$50 sound okay to you? Includes short block and head (head still bolted to the block), with oil pan and valve cover

Hey Lowbuck,

Any luck chasing the head down? I’m finally starting the 4a swap and will take a look at the 3a head after I pull the engine. Only 120K miles, but started burning oil, will be curious to see what I find. If salvable, you could have for the price of shipping.

I picked up the engine from Wayne, and I think the head will do me just fine... only one snapped bolt in it, giving me a headache. It cleaned up nicely in the parts washer.

You can try this for the broken bolt: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fqZYgReuywM

Chemistry for the win! I'll try it and maybe make a thread on it, to share the knowledge!
