I took my car to Little Mountain, an around 1000' high mountain in the middle of San Bernardino. The road had a lot of mini ditches because of rain. My Tercel climbed it like a mountain goat! I bottomed out a few times, but as long as I had my foot on the throttle it never stopped. The last stretch to the top was a long climb at about 25- 30 degrees. I did not even have to use 4Low! Just thought I'd share that with you guys. :D

It is a gear lower than first with more torque that can only be used in 4wd. It is for sand mud and deep snow, or for climbing steep hills covered with dirt or the above mentioned things.
