88 hatchback

Post by rabalc »

I have a 88 2 door hatchback sitting in my back yard ready for bone yard, is there any thing on that on should keep? motor is blown, different anyways, 4 speed manual body is gone interior is black/grey pretty decent. does not appear many parts would interchange but maybe some stuff may?

The only thing that might swap is the dome light

the front seats are similar if I recall, differnt colors, but would bolt in properly. Possibly steering wheel (different style, but interchangeable if you do not like the stock Tercel steering wheel).

The sun visors and review mirrors might also be the same, the '88 corolla sun visors are the same as our 4wd Tercel except the flap is larger, a good up grade. outside rear view mirrors might also be the same as the '85-87 style outside review mirrors, might verify that. There are a lot of minor misc. parts that are also interchangeable. If it has a carb, it may have a TVSV that is the same, save if it has one. front struts might be similar, would have to check spring seat height.

the tranny should be saved if its not a sideways engine
a lot of the internal parts can be used in 4wd tranny
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

It is a sideways engine. Completely different.

The sun visors and dome light are the only things I see that might work, steerin wheel if you like that style maybe the radiator haven't measured it yet,
the wheels are narrower correct? it is carbureted so it probably may have gas valve. Outer door handles are different( I could use one for each side)
