I have seen a sloppy door hinge "fixed" by using a chisel or punch with a large hammer. You put a dimple in the metal hinge next to the pin to take up the extra space. Seems like a simple enough thing to do, at least as a temporary fix. you do not need to remove any parts, just put the chisel on the side of the hinge and stricke it hard enough to distort the metal.
but I have never been able to make it work on the toyota, perhaps the hinge metal is too hard? Or I was too much of a wuss to hit it hard enough; seems you can do a lot of damage to other parts, or yourself, if it slips off the location you would need to strike and deform the hinge metal.

Re: Door hinge repair
I had to pull my door off this weekend to paint it (finally). And wanted to show that the hinge bolts can be removed without removing the fender.
