engine cranks but wont fire

unstuck motor with ATF. Motor from wrecking yard sat for 3 years in tarp garage. Set timing marks and used better of the 2 timing belts (new when I did head gasket on previous motor and blew head gasket within a month) installed distributor with rotor facing #1 Verified tdc by removing valve cover and seeing that rockers for #1 had play. See fuel @ carb. Sprayed starting fluid in carb and still no run. Changed distributor for one that worked before have spark but wont run. Help I am at wits end and wife needs a car for her job!

Did you check your fuses?

my old 83 parts car sat for 5 months, boosted it, poured gas down the carb could not get a kick out of it,,changed spark plugs turned over twice and started right up,, all 4 of the old plugs had spark but not under compresson

Got it fuel pump was working intermittently and 3 teeth off on dizzy. Grr gotta love to hate these things sometimes
