Assorted smaller T4WD wagon parts for sale....

Post by takza »

Having sold my wagon after ten years ownership (the longest I've probably owned any car) I have some assorted lighter weight parts from an '84 SR5 4WD wagon I scavenged for parts...including a trans (put in the sold car)....it had 160 K on it when I got the parts off....

Prices are listed and are what I think stuff is worth (generally http://www.car-part.com/ lowest listed price)....shipping would be extra...but should be around $6 or even less for most parts?

Turns out that shipping Priority Mail jumps from ~ $6 for up to 1 lb...and then to ~$10 up to 2 lbs to the west coast.

You will need to click to see a pic...so that the whole list doesn't load every time someone opens this post....

Stuff in RED has been sold.

The wagon had 260K on it and since I was driving it in the winter...it was hard to stay ahead of the rust. Engine and trans still good though...will miss the 4x4 on demand...no more sneaking off the road for a romp. Bought a Focus...same weight...2xs the HP...out handles most cars...same mileage...decent sound system....only avg repair history though....will be a bear in the winter....California car...so little rust...so far.

Arch...just keep on posting...and eventually you will reach my exalted level.  I talk too much.....but gonna miss this forum.

I kept ahead of most of the rust with the oiling thing each fall...nothing structural was bad...just some holes here and there....my policy was...new hole...more oil. Guy that bought it wanted to use it in his drywall business...good "work truck"....good mpg. Got an 03 ZX3 hatchback....best to avoid the Focus SOHC engines though....and the cars can eat thru tires. This fall I will oil the crap out of the Focus. Next year timing belt. New rack sometime....and so it continues....Guy Noir...private mechanic....

Have one more item to sell...a Bentley manual that covers ALL Tercels 1980 thru 1984......this manual is probably better in some ways than the FSM...covers some areas the FSM doesn't.

Title: Toyota Tercel Service Manual: 1980-1984 (Robert Bentley Complete Service Manuals)
Author: Robert Bentley
ISBN 10: 0837602483

My copy has some water stains...oil smudges...some markings.....binding is good...all pages are there. $18.....shipping included.

Takza, sir, I have followed your posts for the past 8 years here and at the old Yahoo groups (while at the same time have grown up) and resent the fact that you have decided to abandon your Tercel 4WD ownership. You never did put a Weber on it, I think it would've been interesting to have seen what the potential for MPG would've been with the proper tuning especially since you were into that kind of thing (and so am I 8) ). I thank you for your contribution to this forum and the advice you also provided to me personally.

So you had it airlifted to Tibet, complete with a record 8 air-to-air refuelings?? Must have cost you hundreds! Seriously we're going to miss you and your mpg rants, good luck in the future.
It's a scientific fact that in a twin engine aircraft, when one engine fails there is always enough power in the remaining engine to make it all the way to the crash site.

I appreciate the sediments...I mean sentiments! Really do.

I thought of getting another T4WD...but the theory was that a newer car meant fewer repairs...but apparently it doesn't work this way. Makes sense to go with a car that you know...except I get bored...so I'm learning a new one...made from lots of plastic...cardboard(?)...and alum....and some steel. Also has a pretty complex electronic management system that I might learn to hate over time....but so far no CELs. Eventually I'll be too old to fix cars...but as cheap as I am I might just die under one too....sort of hoping not though.

I do have some pics of the rear seat removal and the platform I made...and my DIY roof rack...IF I can find them.

Hope you guys keep the faith and keep this forum going.
