Interesting how that rod deformed that much and no fractures?

.......can't say that for the cast iron.

Post by Soutthpaw »

YEP got it all back togather and runs good. cleaned the inside today, Just need to get the Carburetor dialed in. Was going to do emissions test and then change to weber carb but now I got the Outback I am gonna leave it stock and sell it. May do the struts and shocks though to make it ride better. Will have to make a list of everything that I did on it.

Well I sold the Tercel yesterday, but installed the weber 32/36 carb and new shocks and struts. for those who are interested the selling price was $2150. keep in mind all the work I did on this and it is clean on the inside, new ported and polished engine, new drive train components etc...

Well I have been gone a while since selling ther Terk but I am still around, Turns out the guy I sold it to lives a couple hours away and has simmilar car interests though he is not the mechanical type. Anyway I have done a bit of additional work on it since selling it to him and also Have done some work on his 86 BMW 735i. so we sort of became friends, at least he is always emailing me for advice and I am fine with that. being I only charge $40 an hr and work from home he feels its worth the drive when he needs work done right the first time.
anyway the Tercel is running fine for him. I put new shocks, struts and the carb on before hi initially picked it up. (sale price was $2150) by the way so you have a reference if you are looking for one. (personally I feel he got a great deal for all the work I had into it.) He took it to a local shop and had the carb adjusted and timing done as he lives at 9000ft and I am at about 6000ft . I also don't own an exhaust gas analyzer. Also told him how to select a good shop for that. they are also doing a 2" exhaust all the way back without the catalytic converter. $400 range for all that work by the shop was a good price in my opinion.
Future plans for this summer are for me to make him new bumpers and fix the rust spots and body work.
Glad it found a new loving owner.

Will post more info and pics as I do more work on it.
