If it still shifts...you have a chance to get it working right....a laymans opinion.

I would at least flush the fluid with some regular ATF...get the level right...and put some Lubegard trans additive in it....using the exact amount they recommend. Found at NAPA.

Then if it shapes up some...reflush and use synth ATF and the Lubegard?

There might be some kind of speed sensor involved also?????

Where does that put the RPMS? I know some 3 speeds that don't go to 3rd until 50-70mph. 1-2 around 20-30, 2-3 around 50-70... I guess it fully depends on the ratios.

Try some SeaFoam Trans-Tune to aid in the flushing process?

do a flush.

-add some engine flush to the tranny, run it for awhile, shift through the gears, shut off the engine.

-drain the pan, then add new fluid, add as much new fluid as you like, 4L should be enough. (this step will prevent mixing of old and new fluid)

-remove one of the cooler lines and put it in a bucket or drainpan (which line to use will be a matter of trial and error)

-run the engine, watching the oil that goes into the drainpan and topping up through the filler tube at the same time, when it goes clean, and all the dark crap is out, stop topping it up and wait till air bubbles start coming out, shut off the engine at this point.

-reconnect the cooler lines, add a couple litres through the filler neck, start the engine, check the level and add as nessiary.

you'll get a better flush than any tranny shop will be abel to do for you, and all it costs you is the oil and flush. my friend and have done this on multiple vehichles and it works great.

Good point, as most places just flush new fluid through the tranny without the engine running and whathaveyou. As such, old fluid remains in the valve-body, cooler, and galleries. Though a good, reputable shop who actually give more than half a damn will do it right and flush new fluid through the cooler feed line, circulating through the whole tranny. Sad thing is, shops that care seem to be very few and far between.
