FOUND my Favorite Tercel SR5 - Update on stolen vehicle

Post by tercle »

Two weeks later, they found it and I got it towed home to West Seattle
The ignition relay is missing and maybe another one or two.
They took the cover to the fuse box and the battery (it didn't fit right anyway)

Is there a diagram showing the location of the relays and fuses in the 85 FSM?

Or, can someone tell me what's missing from this picture?

Would it hurt anything if I just connected a +12v wire to the ignition relay socket to give the distributor unit power?
I still don't know if the engine runs and I am still in shock and hungover.

I'm glad you got it back. Maybe it will still run. I looked at the box on my '83 but it is set up differently. I'd think someone with an '85 could pretty easily tell you.

Looks like the only thing they took from the fuse box was the ignition relay and cover.

I got a Echlin AR355 from NAPA and it fired right up!

I am so lucky right now, I am going to buy a lottery ticket or something.

I thing it looks like a Jack o'lantern on the flatbed.

Seems like a strange choice of things to take off it but if a thief is going to make a strange choice that sounds like good one. Glad to hear it made it back in good shape.

Glad to hear you got it back! Maybe consider a battery disconnect to make it harder to steal in the future.

Good idea, but I was thinking of a bear trap, or...

I am glad to hear that. Immobiliser is a good idea. And how about removable steering wheel?

If you still need pictures of the fuses/relays that are needed, let me know! I'll send you a picture and can send you any missing relays/fuses ect you're after for the cost of shipping.

Thanks, MrWrench.
I figured out it was a 30a maxifuse for the radiator fan and a relay for the ignition.

I like the idea of an immobilizer.
Maybe a small explosive device under the dash to remove the lower legs of the next idiot.

There are a lot of people in this state I would love to immobilize.
