old non-working forum links
there are some old links on the forum that will not work due to a server change that occurred a few years ago. if anyone comes across a link on the forum like this:
http://www.tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtop ... 16&p=28985
all they need to do is click that old, non-working link to open it in a new window. it should bring up an 'error 404' screen or something like that. then you can just remove 'forums/' from the URL of that non-working window so it looks like this (minus the spaces—i had to add them so the full URL would show up here):
http:// www. tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3916&p=28985
hit enter, and the link should then work.

Re: old non-working forum links
We can now unstick this topic. All old forum links will work now that we're back in /forums/
All "new" forum links will work too, thanks to redirection. For example,
https://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8103 which is posted in the FAQ, will seamlessly redirect to viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8103
Once we do a forum upgrade I'll go through and fix every link, but this will do for now.

Not much we can do about that! That is why whenever I post a CL ad here I try and copy over the text and some of the pictures.

Re: old non-working forum links
if a car sells, the seller probably takes down the ad. people are just linking to the ads here so they are naturally a time-sensitive thing. if you're looking for another t4, you have to keep checking regularly.

Re: old non-working forum links
Am I correct in saying that the reverse is actually true now? That links without forums/ in them need to be edited to include that?dlb wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2013 12:54 pm there are some old links on the forum that will not work due to a server change that occurred a few years ago. if anyone comes across a link on the forum like this:

For instance,
https://www.tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6880
works just fine, but
https://www.tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6880
doesn't.

Re: old non-working forum links
yeah, the forum has gone through a number of changes over the years so this old thread is no longer accurate.

Re: old non-working forum links
Well I said screw the redirect and just fixed all old links directly in the database!
