$1 a litre is good - if it means people for the most part can go on driving the same distances they always have. However this won't last for long. The world is running out of oil, and as it does so the prices will get high enough that our jobs won't pay for the gas it takes to drive to them. Too bad our governments and the businesses that control them keep spending all our money on more roads and systems that enforce our oil-dependency, while telling us there is no energy crisis and the gas prices are due to short term problems. But of course once they have an excuse to jack the price up they won't let it go down again.
