NISSAN Stanza FWD Wagon

Post by CathodeRayTube »

There is a FWD Stanza wagon available in my neck of the woods...4 speed auto...108K, and has been stored since 1999 inside...appears to have very little rust...guy says it runs good, but the starter quit and needs attention. White...A/C works auppoedly, new plugs and they just spent 500 on a new engine mount and a new ECU. Lowest they will go is $1100...its probably worth it but im having issues convincing myself to jump on it or not...i would rather have a manual with 4x4. Tires appear dry rotted but still usable...

Does anybody know how complicated it would be to convert this to 4x4/manual if i find a donor? I see Wikipedia says the 4wd and FWD variants are different overall lengths...

personally, i would pass on it and keep looking for manual trans 4wd one. i check my local listings for these things too, so neat, especially with no b-pillar. not quite as quirky but the successor to the stanza wagon/multi/prairie (different names for different market areas, very confusing) is the nissan axxess, which was also available in 4wd, and i like it even more. i posted about it here.

are those wheels stock? they look much sportier than the rest of the car but i don't know what wheels they came with.
