A not too far off goal of mine is to take our gypsy caravan to the desert and burn, three Tercels included!!! When the day comes we'll be in contact, I promise. In the mean time, are you guys festi goers? I took Old Red to her first four day festival back in June: 250k, 600 miles round trip, went over three mediocre passes, fully loaded with all of our gear... it was flawless to say the least.

we need to have our own Tercel meet out in the desert somewhere, and have a "burning Tercelman" cook out.

I went. I bought my tercel about 4 days prior. There were no bugs. Quite a few drugs. And hundreds of unexpected hugs.

I know people that do this religiously every year...however I being the pessimist and couch potato that i am, have no desire to pay something like $400 to essentially camp in the dirt and be uncomfortable without showering and A/C for however long it is...Im not really that artsy or creative when it comes to non-mechanical things either. Big crowds of people tend to wear me out as well...i never really even go to concerts or car shows or anything else for that matter...usually because its expensive or too far away, and nobody ever goes with me even if i do want to go do anything.

I took my Tercel the first year I went (2011). DLB was there. I even towed a tent trailer there from up here in Canada. Almost lost a wheel off the trailer on the way down and the Tercel did great. I since bought a Mitsubishi Delica and it is now my road tripping and festival vehicle.
I still dig the Tercel and this forum is better than the Delica forum.

i'm surprised. i thought the delica forum would be a happening place since there are so many of them around now. what do you dislike about the delica forum?

every now and then, i remember using that POS vw forum 'thesamba.com' when we had the westfalia. never before i have encountered such a massive, eager clan of arrogant, rude, fiercely brand loyal, mechanically inexperienced clowns. i can't believe i bothered with that forum for as long as i did.
