i plan to mod this thing to the end of time, it is my daily driver up and down one of the gnarliest canyons in my nation(US), salt lake to park city. hopefully i'll frankenstein another and half-door/4ag/barto lift it to conquer all scout trips in mad style.
thank you.. all., already. gee whiz less than half a year on here and im down at the junkyard like a damn dog trying to emulate u mcgraths, bartos and 'synths'.(among many others) Should have a brake upgrade complete soon, and 410s in my 83 in time. ive listened to shaggymoons 0-60 about a hundred times, and posted it on many friends walls on fb.. (i CANT BELIEVE how much information ive been able to find on here... not to mention info from god of tercel off roading, barto!)

oh and i think the brown is a beautiful color.. in southern utah it looks amazing with the red rocks and blue skys.. i think some of these pacific northwesterners only think of wet leaves and gloomy-ness when they see it, maybe they just need to get out this way!!

really pretty place there. i'll have to hit it on a road trip sometime. and i like your sailing mast mod in the last pic, you will definitely get some insane mpg in tailwinds with that.

Re: 'The Terrorcel'
land sailing can be much faster than using the tercel engine, see the 126 mph run of a sail equipped land car below:

Here is a home built one using a sailboard sail;

are you bummed with the cost of gas? one forum member is working on a diesel engine swap:

i just searched the forum but couldn't find the info on propane conversions. i believe an aussie member has done it but i'm not positive.

Re: 'The Terrorcel'
Am I incorrect but isn't there some kind of hydrgen injection kit out there too? I might have the hydrogen part wrong but I thought that is what I remember it being.
People were saying they could double their fuel economy just by bolting on a water tank, some hoses, and a plate kit. There is a company 45 miles away from me that actually builds these kits. About $450 bucks I have been told.
Anyone else familiar with these systems, or whatever it is I am thinking of?
Peace

Re: 'The Terrorcel'
I would not waste your money on any "hydrogen injector kit", either they do not know what they are doing or they are just frauds. There is no physics that allows them to operate the way they claim. You can convert a car to run on pure hydrogen, but that is a major operation, not the silly kits they sell you that supposedly "burns" water to improve your fuel economy.
Propane is something I am considering; last fill up on our 500 gal tank was $1.88 gal, it has 116 octane rating. It burns so clean that trucks and fork lifts that run on them can operation inside factories and warehouses where you have employees working at the same time. Conversion kits for carb cars are about $700, but I think you can put the parts together for much less. This would be much easier than a deisel engine swap, and you can still run on gasoline if you have to.

Re: 'The Terrorcel'
i hope you do this swap sometime, peter. i'd love to see a 'how to' thread on it because i would also consider swapping a future terc to propane.Petros wrote:Propane is something I am considering; last fill up on our 500 gal tank was $1.88 gal, it has 116 octane rating.
