See.. hybrids can look good!
Seriously can someone from colorado (Typrus is that like an hour north of you?) go and interview this guy? love to see his MPG and Torque figures, might hold off on that weber conversion yet!
that's got to be a 4wd to I guess.. what with fuel filler on the passenger side etc
Dave Mustoe of Lakewood converted his 1985 Toyota Tercel station wagon, above, into a hybrid, which operates with both a gasoline engine and an electric motor. "Electricity, in my mind, will be the superior method of transportation," he says of alternative-powered vehicles. (Post / Jerry Cleveland)

Actually the T4WD is probably ideal for this conversion due to it's GVW capacity and room for batts. Be interesting to know what engine and motor he uses...there is a lot in the details.
Give a boy a gun-give a biatch a cell phone-and pretty soon you almost got yourself a police state.

Well if anyone ever decides to make up the adapter plate for an electric conversion I'm in for one.
I have a 87 fx-16 with a blown motor.

At one point I started looking into what it would cost to fully electrify my Terc, but when I got to the batteries it went way outside my possible budget
It probably wouldn't be too bad to convert a 4WD to FWD gas/RWD electric with a Lexus RX400h rear differential motor and FWD Tercel transaxle.
