Wow - you have a Motocompo Scooter!
How rare are those?

Aw, man thanks! I do wish I could have kept every car I've restored. But these little Tercels with their whiny gearboxes, are the most dear to my heart.

I just took the ferry to the mainland and spent the day in Vancouver, Canada visiting my sister. Vancouver has had crazy money flooding in over the last few years and it's full of supercars driving around. I was driving my 1st gen '81 Tercel and I had more head turns and looks than all the overpriced status vehicles around me. I was at a stoplight with some kind of lamborghini in front of me and a couple of guys on the sidewalk were ignoring it and giving my car the thumbs up. Anyone with enough money can go to the dealership and drive off in a supercar, but it takes searching, dedication and "car parenting" to proudly drive around in a now-rare 35 year-old economy car.

I love these stories of Tercels stealing the spot light!

Here are a few more shots of the little guy.

I agree about the head turning. When I drive my 1981 Tercel I get the same reaction. When I take her to car shows, she is the only one of her kind.
