those are in a place hard to get behind. I have fixed a few of these this way: remove all of the inteiror panels and the tail light, use wood block and boards, and a big pry bar to get behind it. be careful you push in the correct place, do not bang on it, but lever and push it out. Using the blocks to get leverage in the correct place. cut and sand the bock to fit the inside curve of the body panel, and add a thin layer of padding (cardboard, heavy fabric, thin foam padding, etc), and drive it against the back of the dents.

If done carefully you can even save most of the paint. at the "eyebrows" you have to get it slight above original contour, and than use a plastic mallot to tape it back to shape (with the wood block wedged behind it). This way you will use the min. amount of body filler.

sometimes on minor dents you can do a "paintless repair" (go see Youtube for paintless dent repair process). where you can carefully bring it back out to contour without damaging the paint. of course part of that dent has already rusted, so you will have to sand and fill the corrosion. But the less filler the better.

A few times I have made dents like this almost go away, so much so that I choose not to add filler, but left it as a slight dent that was hardly noticeable. Rather than put on filler and after market paint, which is never as durable as the original factory paint.

good luck.

Using a heat gun on the area before reshaping not only makes the metal slightly more pliable but increases the flexibility of the paint. Greatly reduces the chance of cracking the paint in the process. Obviously be careful not to keep the heat in one place too long or the paint will bubble and that's just as bad.

he is telling you he does not want to work on it. I hate when mechanics express opinions that are unsolisited, sometimes they are tring to be helpful, but they are usually clueless when it comes to older cars.
