photobucket was once the largest photo sharing site, now they have just signed their death wish. That is always the risk of using any free service, you do not own or control it, no privacy, and not even any right to your own content.

I wonder why the sudden change, new owner perhaps? what a shame. I have a lot of pic there, and I think some of my earliest postings use photobucket. I still have the pics, if I run across any of them I will try and load them directly.

I can still open my photobucket images in photobucket but just not show on this or other sites. So it might be laborious but I will try and download my images (including my avatar) soon for backup.

A real pain though when members have put step by step instructions and other important information in long posts. Hopefully photobucket will reverse its decision.. Even if they rotated ads on some of the pics and you clicked them to see them the image would be ok.

Thanks for the tip Petros. I'll do a thorough check of the exhaust. I need to weld my new muffler on this weekend anyhow.

I saved all my photobucket pictures to my computer but it would be too laborious to go back through and upload all my images. I might try to do a direct upload. I have started to use Imgur but feel jaded from what just happened with Photobucket. Direct upload seems like the way to go if I can figure it out.

It's about time to tow the 4Runner home and put the diesel engine back in it.

The windshield on the Tercel was leaking because of rust on the windshield flange. I had the windshield removed so that I could remove the rust and put a fresh coat of paint on it.

Then I had a new windshield installed. Then yesterday morning I drove over to the shop at work and painted the stripe on the door and fender.

Time for a transmission rebuild.

Got the cases cleaned up in the parts washer.
Fifth gear has a couple little chips in it so for $45 I’m gonna see if Toyota has one still available. If not it will probably be fine.

Thanks Petros. It appears that Toyota no longer has them available so I’ll get ahold of Xirdneh.

I ordered this super cool JDM key. I’m gonna be handing this car over to my 17 year old nephew soon so I hope he appreciates it.

Yesterday I took the Tercel in to the local locksmith shop which is owned by a previous helicopter instructor of mine. We re-keyed all the locks to the code found on the passenger side lock, so that everything operates with one key now.
Today my friend and I headed over to Xirdneh’s place and picked up a replacement 5th gear. Thanks again Xirdneh! We got some pretty good progress. The output shaft is now re-assembled, the counter-shaft is re-assembled both have been installed along with the input shaft, reverse shaft and the reverse counter-shaft onto the the intermediate plate.

The keen eyed among you will notice that the reverse idler gear is not intalled in this picture. We had to pull the shafts back out install it in the correct sequence, but we got it installed now.
