Need to put a new pass side bushing in my manual steering rack. I once had a plastic one from the dealer...was told to use a hacksaw blade to carefully cut the old metal one out...the new plastic one just compresses (has a split) and thus fits inside the rack housing. Have since lost the new part....hope to get another one at $2 or so.
Drivers side uses the pinion preload adjustment as a bushing on that side....needs some snugging.
Pinion shaft bearings seem OK.
Question: has anyone done this job? Any pointers?
I'll be removing the rack since I also want to put in some rack mount bushings I have.

Give a boy a gun-give a biatch a cell phone-and pretty soon you almost got yourself a police state.
