Tire question

Post by Turdcelbrother »

Wasn't sure where to post this, apologies if In the wrong place.
I'm wondering if anyone knows if a LT195/75r14/D 99r bf Goodrich all terrain t/a ko's would fit my stock tercel 14's, "the square/block style wheel"?

Look up the tire specs and see if your rim width is OK.

I've got 195/70r14's on MR2 triangles for both of mine. Rim/wheel well fit is good.

Some T4's came with 14's? I though my only set of stock alloys with the square caps are 13's.

alloys are better than steel wheels any day, they are noticeably stiffer. I kind of like the look too, but those should be 13", you can get toyota alloy wheels in 14" from corrola or mr2 that will fit our cars, but not the same style.

I think using 14" alloy wheel with the same rolling dia tire will result in more responsive handling (lower side profile), but a quality 13" alloy wheel would not be bad either. check the width too, wider wheels, even with the same tire, also results in a more soild and responsive feel at the steering wheel.

If you are after performance, I would not go with steel wheels either way. Get some decent alloy wheels, you will not regret it.

Personally, I'm fond of Miata Daiseys- plenty of 'em out there for cheap 'cuz the Miata ricer crowd wants to go BIG diameter wheels. The offset's good, the center hole is the same diameter as our cars, and they have tapered steel inserts for the lug nuts. Matter of fact, I've got 4 sets of 'em...

If you get "Gen I" Daisys - see what I did for nut covers and center caps: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5827&p=42940&hilit=miata#p42940
and https://www.platt.com/platt-electric-su ... pid=152960
Most hardware stores carry these - the 2" diameter fit fine.

I’m running Mini Cooper 17’s they fit perfect so I’m sure the 15’s would also work.
