Countershaft Bearing replacement?

Post by SirFoxx »

Hello--

This question may need input from xirdneh, but any responses are welcomed. I split my tranny to reseal it, and I noticed that my counter shaft bearing is ready to explode. I tried looking up both the nachi and toyota part # and cannot source a replacement bearing. Are there any secret places where I may get a replacement bearing?

Also, is the bearing a press on bearing?

Toyota (90365-32009)
Nachi (32RT06S3LRN)

i bought a 32RT a few years ago at locateballbearings
1 800 409 3632 “Locate Ball Bearings” “Larry” for bearings B25-145 NSK (received NSK B25-145 C4 SDRS) $29.00, 32RT06S3LRN C3 NACHI $39.50 (LRN means groove and snap ring) KOYO, 6306NR $28.23, KOYO RNU070614 $59.00, All above + $9.95 shipping. 6306N from Amazon.com $27.50 (includes shipping and tax) 6306N has no shields but that’s OK.
KOYO RNU070614 available at Silverdale Transmission $17.50 (part #184) (thru alltransmission.com Portland Ore $29.25 1-800-345-7500) .
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

I bought one from locate ball bearings. $60. Do you have any advice for pulling the bearing off without a puller?

I used a bearing remover under the bearing and a bar of metal on end of shaft end with holes or slots in it for two 3/8 all thread rods going from bar to bearing thing. The bearing remover is in two halves with bolts holding them together. Got it a harbor freight for pretty cheap.

Installing bearing can be done with section of steel pipe about 7 inched long. I freeze shaft and warm bearing to make it go on easier. Using a press would be best.

Also this. Its been a while since I did one but I think you have to have bearing remover somewhat loose around shaft to clear something. Cannot remember what
