Ok, so the dude I sold party to said she suddenly started stalling when you give her gas.
Does it if the AC is on or off
Does it if it's cold, or warmed up
Runs fine if you let the car start moving and then give it gas. (automatic)
Runs fine at speed.
Starts stuttering when you get back down to idle, "idle seems lower"
Before I drive over there I was wondering if this rang a bell. Sounds like the big vacuum hose going to the air cleaner came off.

Re: Stalling
yes, vacuum leak almost certainly. if it just suddenly happened, likely a hose fell off, or someone pulled off the air cleaner and pulled one off accidentally. old vac lines get stiff and often will not grip the hard line very well. If the hose is good I use a small zip tie on the end to prevent this, sung it just enough to increase the friction on the hose end, but not too tight you can not pull it off.
Also, check all of the carb adjustments (cable tension, idle speed, throttle pull off, etc) are all correct.
auto trans car is very difficult to drive when there is a flat spot right off the throttle, it stall right when you start off from a start. than you have to stop the car, put in in neutral, restart it, than put in back in drive. all when the cars behind you are honking their horns at you (as if that is going to help).

Re: Stalling
Yeah it was the little vacuum line on the upper throat of the driver side of the carb!
