head gasket

Post by yota81 » Tue Jul 11, 2017 8:18 am

Im changing out my head gasket cause the oil turned milky. Bought a new head gasket set and the description say 80-82 Toyota tercel 1ac 3ac 1.5L 8v and all. Well I get the gasket set and the head gasket is different everything else works but the head gasket is just a bit different it fits but their are holes where my old gasket didn't have any. But on the block and head there are holes where their are on my new gasket so im confused? Any help please? It wont let me post pictures for some reason but ill keep trying.

the extra holes should not be a problem, see my recommended procedure to improve cooling in the head by altering the head gasket in this repair guild thread below. you should ignore the service manual procedure and use the one I developed here for improved durablity:

I covered this before, the 80-82 headgasket actually has the holes that Petros adds back in!
