I don't know what this goes to but the wire broke off it, I'll figure out how to put it back on later today but what is this for

pry rubber out
get small female blade fitting and crimp it to wire
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

that is the temp sensor for the emissions control system, it measures the coolant outlet temp. The one for the temperature gauge is on the front of the head (next to the valve timing cover). likely it would run fine without it, but it is an easy fix as Xirdneh points out.

in the picture the other temp senor is showing that the wire to it is disconnected, it goes to the temp gauge on the dash.

My tercel:: 1983, DLX 4wd wagon with 4.1 manual gearbox, tow bar). Manual steering. 313,000 kms. Tercel 4WD SR5, 1987, 500,000kms. Other car - 2003 Rav4, AWD, 2l manual, Peugeot 407 Diesel (93,000 miles) in Ireland for use when on holiday there.

My Tercel isn't even fitted with one of those sensors.
