Crack in Frame no more!

Post by tercelwill »

This is an update from my Crack in Frame Help! post last week.
I finally found a frame shop close to home. Mizelle Front End & Frame Services w 25th Norfolk, Va http://www.mizelles.net
they did a great job i recommend anyone in Hampton Roads to go here

It turns out the first repair was done by an ape with a welder at Autocraft Express off of S. Military in Va Beach.

This is a common problem on old unibody frame cars

they stop drilled all the cracks (thanks Kieth) did a great weld job and also repaired the crack where the sway bar mounts to the front support. In addition they also welded a cross beam between the v shaped bolt on supports from the control arm boxes to front support.

In the Va Beach area, you should be able to find some FAA certified welders. A lot of the hammer slammers out at Oceana get their FAA training and certification courtesy of Uncle Sam.

Defiantly a plus to living in the area. I just think the welder didn't care. Figured an old weird looking station wagon wasn't worth the effort and ripped me off. This Forum is the only place where anyone really appreciates the Tercel.
