Manual Transmission and rear differential (4.1)

Post by mrdance123 »

NOT FOR SALE at this time. It is now my only spare, I sold my other spare transmission.

Original post:
$250 for front trans-axle(4.1) clutch housing, + transmission & transfer case, will not break these apart to sell pieces.
$100 for the matching rear differential (4.1) still in it's axle housing, the axles are gone. This can sell separately.

These came from an '84 SR5 with about 125K miles on it.
However, I found out they are 4.1 ratio (not 3.71 expected for the model year)
by counting the teeth in the front diff.
2 gears have 10 teeth, 2 more have 16, and the big ring gear has 41.
The donor car had a blown engine, I was still able to drive it around a few blocks,
all gears worked fine, and shifted in and out of 4wd without getting stuck in 4wd.
The engine was so noisy I could not say if the gears were making any noises, or not.

Located near Portland Oregon.

I'd be interested in taking a look at them sometime this winter. Maybe December or January 2018 when time works out. That is if they're still available.

that aluminum shift fork tells me its 85-88 tranny
diff that that tranny was attached to would be 4.1 gear ratio
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.
