Parting out an '83

Post by Devin »

I bought an '83 Tercel with no title and a busted transmission in order to salvage the a/c system and a couple other parts. The rest of the car is in fairly good condition, it only has about 170,000 miles. I am going to send it to the junk yard soon but I wanted to open it up to you guys. If you have a part you need, let me know and we can work out a deal. It has a functioning Inclinometer.

it is hard to tell in the picture, but if the body is relatively rust free and in decent shape, it would be a shame to send it to the wrecking yard.

If you are determined to part it out, even the busted trans is worth saving for the parts. I might be looking for a new front diff assembly with the 3.73:1 gear ratio.

What would you take for the inclinometer and window regulators maybe? Does it have any of the rear access panel covers for the lights and such?

I'd like to get at least $50 for the inclinometer. What do you think is a fair price for the rest? It has all the panels and covers.

I would take the front part of the trans without the diff that Petros needs. Mostly fifth gear is what I'm interested in.
