the MR2 master also has a smaller dia piston, that will improve the braking ratio, giving you a better mechanical advantage. The ratio between the master piston dia and the caliper/wheel cylinder piston dia is the primary ratio (works the same way as a lever ratio, the smaller the fulcrum compared to the lever length, the more mechanical advantage you get). Add the more powerful booster design, and you get much more powerful braking action for the same pedal pressure. Much more effective brakes, particularly noticeable when you have the car loaded, or going down a long steep mountain pass.
