back window

Post by Foryst »

Man what a time of the year for this... I was driving up this Hill on the freeway and I hear a loud "tap" type noise and look around I see nothing look in my mirrors and still nothing, it's about midnight so it's hard to look around, I assume everything is okay. But as I keep driving I still hear this cracking/scraping type of noise. I pull off to my exit and look at my rear view, shattered. Man luckily the tint the kept it together Im not picking up glass everywhere. Man another back window gone maybe I'm just meant to have plexiglass back there again haha

So does anyone in close by have a rear hatch back window for sale? I prefer the glass look :)

I have no idea how it broke everyone I talked to is confused to maybe the cold? I turned my rear defrost off about 15 minutes before it happened and all my windows were rolled up. Could have been just a fracture in the window just waiting to go.

I have never broke a rear window, only broken ones I have seen around here is if they are fractured in an accident. wonder why you have trouble with it.

where are you?

Well how this one broke I'm unclear of. The first one I broke was on my last tercel when I got into an accident and I rocked no window for a summer then the plexiglass was thrown in which lasted for about 3 years. My buddies have been telling me that the window is just not meant to be on the tercel haha.
I'm in kent wa.
I have a window lined up and should have it fairly soon if no problems arise

I'd try to source a replacement hatch too.

Hello, I don't think your window broke because of the cold, since my rear defrost does not work and the window is still there (with temperatures as low as 6ºF). Maybe a stone kicked up from another vehicle?

If you blew two windows in the same hatch, I think your hatch might be deformed.

you also may have someone shooting at cars as they drive by. Not likely, but anything can happen these days.
