Pics w/ 85'-87' MR2 wheels??

Post by NWMO »

Hey all,

I've been considering upgrading to 14" rims as I have a decent alloy set on the Prizm. After quizzing my son today, I think he would prefer to keep them than run steelies.

So I started looking around some. Does anyone have pics of a Tercel wagon with the 85'-87' MR2 alloy wheels? Painted or powder coated white might look pretty sharp imo. I think I can manage until late fall, but will be keeping my eyes open and hopefully hitting some junk yards.

Hello, I think Petros runs these wheels. Also have a look at the corolla 'ninja star' wheels as we know them as in aus. I think they might have come on the GTS corolla in the US

If I remember to do it, I'll pull a couple of wheels off my '86 MR2 and throw them on one side of my Terc in the next couple days ;)

teranfirbt,

WOW, that would be over the top if you want to. I can always photoshop to get a feeling of looks as well. I don't know how easy they would be to find, but I've got some time.

Thanks dlb,

Great links and pics. I think I'm sold on the MR2 wheels like Petros has in his avatar photo, but I'd like them white. I will try a local craigslist ad and see if I have any luck, thanks for the great links/info.

Petros - thanks for the great info on tire size etc. found in the links, super stuff!

I recently picked up a set of these exact rims for my '83, can't wait to install them! They need a little work done on them first though, they have some curb rash that I'm going to attempt to correct. Glad to know others have used them with no issues.

Those should look great! It’s interesting to come across a post I started over seven years ago. Still plugging along, my favs so far are BMW “bottle-caps” and the MR-2 “triangles”. Just picked up my new “shoes” today on the MR-2 wheels.

+1 for Bottlecaps!

I just painted a set gloss white with Dupli-Color HWP100 and ripped off the OZ Racing logo to say, "62 HORSES" in red vinyl on the face :D

Another few days for the clear to dry and I'll post up some pics!

Iggzmon,

Looking forward to the pics! I “added” a hillbilly center cap on mine.

Looks great Iggzmon! Those battle caps look great in white! I would love to see a pic from the rear.
