Bearing plate or Hat seal

Post by SynthDesign »

So if you're going to replace springs or dampener cartridge up front, you'll probably wanna replace these.

This goes between the spring hat and the bearing plate(also know as hat or strut top) to prevent contamination to the bearing.

They could easily be homemade out of foam, but the OE part # is 90303-22049

i've made a few home-made gaskets when i've been in the middle of a job and not wanting to wait for parts to come in and then drive 40 minutes round trip to get it. i just made a gasket for the thermostat housing out of a beer bottle box--cut out an appropriate chunk of the box, pulled the glossy material off, measured the housing, drew it on and cut it out. put some high temp sealant on both sides and it works great.
