Genuine Toyota Rear Seatbelt Info & Part #

Post by GLet71 »

I've been looking to add 3 point seatbelts to the back row, and came across this Toyota service bulletin from 1988...

Sadly I think those don't exist anymore and is why I had to move away from tercels :(

We have three point in Australia for the two outer seats (still lap in the middle). I did send some over for Thom a few years back. If you look under the C pillar trim I would imagine there is a bolt that you could fit a seatbelt two from a corolla or something similar. even a set of fronts from a wrecked Tercel? and dremmel out the trim to fit around it.

I've ordered non retractable belts off of eBay that will work, just need to manually adjust them. The issue with retractable, and not being able to use any old variety, is the necessity in being level vertically and horizontally. The Aussie specific ones have all that into account, because yes, the welded nuts are all in place as you say.

I had hoped to just transfer front belt assemblies to the back but it isn't possible to fit them in there level.

Cool, I would like to make sure my kidlets are safe and sound in the back seat, so if you come across a pair, please let me know.
