The Ugliest Ebay TercEl Camino yet...

Post by neonsport »

I know there have been a couple of these this year, and one of them I'd have actually considered owning. However, I believe I'd have to pass on this one...

That actually looks to be rather well done...EXCEPT for the wing which is mainly for looks the way it is set up.

No wing...it would be a neat utility truck...until you put weight in the back and the front wheels started to spin.

I'll give you that, the construction is nice. The wing kills it at first glance, though, and the chop at the front of the bed is too severe. There was one earlier this year that had just about exactly the same "swoop" at that area as a Falcon Ranchero, and it had cadillac taillights that worked with the body. I couldn't build something like that without a working tailgate. I think using one from a Subaru Brat would give it about the right sixe,a nd it'd make the back of the truck much more usable.

That seller listed that monstrosity on Craigslist here in Colorado for a few months, and he started his pricing at $12,000, iirc, slowly lowering it over time. I hope it sold to someone out of state, it is one U-G-L-Y car. I would hate to see it on the road.

Sadly, too many people think that 'if I put x dollars into a car, it's automatically worth at least that much more'. You see that all the time with Honda Civics most often.

Even using the arguement that it is somehow a low mileage classic is moot with the way it has been so totally defiled. $12k will buy a person a much nicer car than that. I wouldn't give up more than about $2500 for it - so long as he would remove that wing!
