I'm a bit speechless other than to say there's a Tercel for sale in Portland.

Re: 84 Toyota Tercel sr5 - $500 Portland, OR
Ive been seeing this one for a while now and ive been a bit suspicious since the very first time. If it really had all those new parts put in top to bottom only 20k ago why only $500? Im assuming he did the work himself and did something wrong to lead the gasket to blow in only 20k also....
And 40mpg with a weber? Not buying that one either. Mine had a weber and it defiantly made my wagon more "peppy" but my economy was actually a little worse than stock. Weber needs to be re jetted for sure to run right on the little 3ac

Sounds fairly legit. Just hasn't got time for it and salvage title takes the pricee down. not sure about the 40mpg but obviously the engine has been out and worked on a little already.. well the outside

Little amused he went to insurance over a dented bumper.
Sounds legit to me too, if it doesn't run, the value goes way down. I never pay more then $200-300 for a non runner myself.

Re: 84 Toyota Tercel sr5 - $500 Portland, OR
needs a head gasket, and who knows what else (since you will not be able to test drive it).
still, sounds like a good buy for a fixer. In my experiance, there are always other things to fix, more than the owner says, whenever you buy a non-runner. and you will not know until you get the engine running and you can drive it around the block.
