i just noticed there is a steel vacuum line that is not connected to anything. it is left of where the red and green wires are clipped to the carb, facing up toward the camera. your emissions are different than ours in canada but i don't believe there should be any open or unused ports so check to make sure it is not a vacuum leak.
K yea I was pulling lines to she wat did wat an that one ripped so need to get some vac line before I go further
Good eye.
Are any of these things the vac Ln r hooked to ..
Possible problems. to make hi rpm
An if I pull every Ln one at a time ..is each one going to have noticeable vac....? measurable?
I notices the missing vac lines too. do not just pull and cap off vac lines without knowing what they do, many of the cars systems require vac to operate properly and removing them could make it undrivable or give you very poor economy. use the vacuum diagram for your car (found elsewhere on this site) and follow each vac line from end to end and verify that is routed correctly and the line is not cut or cracked. Do not assume that the last guy that worked on your car got the vac lines installed properly, too often I have seen them come from repair shops all mixed around (and the resultant running like crap).
Until you sort out the vac lines there is no point in going further with any repairs because it will never run right if the vac lines are not routed properly.
Also, in the service manual there are a series of simple tests for each of the systems to verify they are working properly, do those tests and fix, replace or by pass anything that does not pass the test. A bad component can also act like a vacuum leak, so it is important to know they are all working properly as well.
Typically you will have several things going on with the car and until you fix all of them you can not really go any further. I once got a fixer Tercel4wd that ran like crap, a blown rear diff, and bad brakes (that was what the seller admitted to). He thought the carb needed to be rebuilt, once I replace the bad rear diff (twice, turns out they put the wrong front trans axle assembly so the front and rear diff ratios did not match, hence the reason he trashed the rear diff), and replace the brakes, wheel bearings and a number of other problems, I found that the engine had nine vacuum leaks, and several misrouted vac lines. once I fixed that, the engine ran great, no carb rebuild required.
Hmm cool..
Well I put the hub from the t2 on had to change break line too
Then went to bleed it an the bleeder broke..of course
U guys r going to love my head lite ..red neck repair..
Sr5 had a hole in the bac of the pass side lite ..so its on the work bench waiting to b fixed ..not I hit it with my elbow an it hit the cement floor
Now I never noticed they had two different lights..
So I'm like no problem I'll change the light from t2
Then I'm looking an shit this ain't rite.. plus the marker lite is out on t2 drivers side..
Well I now have a one of a kind front HL system..
I'll post a pick of it after I get the grill in ..
I promise not to disappoint..
you can bleed the brakes at the line connection, it does not work as well, but it can be done. that happened to me with a brand new set of re-manufactured calipers for our Mazda, I had to get the car together and the darn tiny bleeder they put on sheared off. So I bled the whole system first, and than bled that caliber at the brake line connection. worked okay, got most of the air out so it will drive okay, but the pedal was a little bit mushy, but stops the car safely.
K I'm driving her
Had to change driver seat belt out
But it runs , drives stops..
Just tested the 4wd ..It works too.. no clanging or banging..
she needs buffed out bad but that comes after a few more small fixes..
Hi Pordog. I had a red T4wd too viewtopic.php?t=4089 the red on Toyotas fades bad but doesn't peel like a metalic. If you give it a couple of hours with some cutting polish and then wax after or even claybar you would be surprised how well the red color comes up. Even better if you touch up black trim. You need to wax it every six months or so though. The adhesive strips off the side might be easily revoved with a heat gun or even hair dryer. I think your car would look pretty clean after that
