search function messed up?

Post by dlb »

i'm trying to search for how to inspect inner tie rods and i know there's tons of posts with info on that, but nothing comes up through the search. even just typing "inner," "tie," or "rod" yield nothing. other stuff comes up fine, like "sway bar" or whatever. i'm baffled. is it my browser?

A mystery that a number of (at least) car sites share...
Typing "inner," as you say, results in nada; typing "outer" results in lots of tie rod hits, many containing the word "inner." Same number of letters and even syllables - who knows why...
Typing, per the Search instructions, "tie+rod" results in nada; typing "tierod" results in lots of hits. What is the correct spelling? Does it differ between the USA and Canada? As a favor (favour) can anyone cast a different color (colour) on this?

To be honest, I have no idea. I don't particularly like the search on this forum.

It's in the way it index's the words. You have to have an exact match.
