Field Expediency Contour Gauge

Post by ARCHINSTL »

I wish I could claim credit for this - but I stole it from the Miata.net club's Tool Talk Forum (from which I also stole the idea for OUR Tool Talk Forum).
It's simply a bunch of bamboo skewers, available at any grocery store, stuck through the grooves/holes/openings in a piece of corrugated cardboard.
Pretty clever!

If you need to copy the shape of something, you can make a close image of it with this gauge. Cool idea.

they are cheap to buy, but making a 3 ft long one this way might be a much cheaper option. they can also be used to check body shape from one side to the other of the same car since you can flip it over, it will give you the profile for the left side by using it on the right side.
