Re: 88 T4wd Adventures in Mesa Arizona!
I agree with dlb and Turtcel. Let the shop re and re the motor and you do the repair. I have one question though. I know it was cold but why would the seal have blown after warming up so long?

Re: The battle wagon
Replacing axles shouldn't change the alignment. The mounting points of the hub should not change. The ball joint, upper strut (as long as the camber adjustment hasn't been moved), and tie rod. The axle 'floats' in this configuration.

Re: Frank Talk About Nuts...?
I agree with you dlb. I will run a tap or die down threads before using never seize. I have had more problems with threads seizing with never seize than grease. If I want something to last to be taken apart later I use grease on the threads, after chasing the threads.

Re: Front Wheel Bearing Replacement
Once the axles are out it is easy to check the condition of the wheel bearings. They can be spun by hand and felt for roughness and play.

What exactly are back fees? We don't have that terminology up here. Do you have to keep paying for a title every year? Just curious.

Re: Transmission Swap Inquiries
I have looked into doing one of these conversions myself too. I believe the cross members of both transmissions bolt in different places and you will need to change drive shafts. Holes will have to be drilled in the firewall to mount the pedals and route the clutch cable. Neutral safety switch is an...

Re: 1983 Tercel Wagon 4x4 - oliver, bc - $400
Didn't get to ask too many questions. I asked about the rockers and he just said there was no free air conditioning from the outside. But a lot of rust. Sorry I didn't get more info for other members. I thought there was a member in that area. Maybe he could go look at it if someone is interested.

Re: 1983 Tercel Wagon 4x4 - oliver, bc - $400
I just phoned the guy. He said it was rusty and had holes in the fenders but was vague on the condition of the rest of the car. He said he will try to post some pictures. Too far for me to drive with so little info.

Re: Creative Use of Old Tercel
Yeah, they were. The first two sold as runners. The third one Glet bought for parts and the last one I stripped and sent to the crusher. It had severe inner rocker panel rot. I had as many as eight at one time here last summer.

Not sure what you would call it, a Fordcel or a Tercord. The rear wiper was hooked up and working. I think he also had th...

Sometimes you can hear which side is clunking on the turn to help differentiate which axle it is.

Re: Manual Transmission Removal and Re-Installation
Don't back off the trans. Lower the trans mount and it will hang low enough to get the bolts in.
