Re: Greater Seattle Area Tercel Meet & Greet

I'm busy the next couple weekends, but beyond that I have time to meet up for a mini car show and lunch somewhere? Maybe a drive?

I have a set of quad-beam AutoPals on one of my Subarus and I'm not impressed with their quality.

Re: Halogen Headlight Upgrade

Topic 1: The only way to upgrade to LED headlights is with a housing that is designed for LEDs. The light profile from an LED chip is vastly different from a halogen light. Drop in H4 style LED bulbs are *horrible* at getting light on the road from a housing designed for a halogen H4. Just don't do...

Prof runs Subarus as well and that is what he has pictured. He also has a Tercel. I believe the Subaru includes a pretty significant body lift which in turn lets them run larger tires.

Chris
Correct, this example probably has a 4 -in. lift with ~27-28 -in. tires.

Next time use some Teflon tape on the drain plug's threads, no cure time on that.

Re: 1983 Tercel SR5 4WD on Copart in Eugene, OR

This road trip reminds me of the Roadkill boys on their adventures. I was hoping to do the same with a recently acquired 1987 Subaru RX coupe, but after a quick test drive I noticed a coolant leak, so onto the U-Haul it went. ...The Professor zooms by, New Edition's "Cool It Now" blasting ...

The Professor wrote: Mon Oct 07, 2019 10:41 am Where are you located? I'm interested in finding a few of these parts:

5th spare alloy wheel and lug nuts
an adjustable intermittent wiper switch
A working VSV
Driver's side window rubber in good condition
Black front seat belts (if buckles aren't damaged)
Any word on these parts?

You can contact local people on the Row52 app (or website?) who will pull and ship parts for you. I've done it once with great results.

i laid the two one on top of the other and they were identical other than the 4wd one was bent over to bolt on I don't have the 4WD mount that I pulled off to show the differences I saw, but the "U" shape was different enough that even cutting and welding that tab, the other half of the &...

Re: Alternate transmission mount

...if you get a 4wd one use a fwd one,,cut the side flat bar off the old 4wd one and weld it to the fwd one... I was going to try this, but once I got the 2WD and 4WD mounts side by side, I decided that they have enough differences that cutting and rewelding the mounting tab wasn't going to be a sa...

Re: Blue and grey interior plasic and trim

How many miles are on the car and what sort of condition is the interior in? I may be interested in the passenger's seat upholstery and front seat belts, if they're in good cosmetic condition. If it has the adjustable intermittent wiper switch I'd love that too. If the rear cargo area speaker covers...
