Re: Tercel Art
The shiny red Tercel looks just like mine, except for the big bumpers. How do I get a print?

Re: Oil drain plug torque value
I replaced the filler plugs on my manual transmission with aftermarket 19mm spanner size plugs. They have bigger hex heads and are easier to remove I found. I did the same with my wife's 2004 Rav4. Why does Toyota make the head so thin, to reduce drag? The drain plugs I've replaced with ones with re...

Re: Running The Tercel On Petrol Fume
Thanks Gottolovem. My engineering experience tells me that it was all bullshit, but rather than try to disprove it for myself, I thought that I would ask you guys.

Running The Tercel On Petrol Fume
I keep seeing video's on Youtube with people claiming to be able to run their cars/mowers/trucks on petrol/gas fume. Have any of you guys try that on your Tercels?

Re: Another Movie Sighting...
I saw this American movie called Crash a few weeks ago. There was a Tercel 4wd driving on the main road at around the 18 min mark. One of the main character was driving a 4WD. He stopped at the light to turn right onto the main road and the Tercel drove past.

4wdEconoBox. We don't have the Miata in Australia so I don't know much about it. Does it have a remote door opener? Maybe you accidently unlocked the doors by remote and after a short time it locked itself automatically. Some cars have this feature and the indicators will flash as if you were lockin...

Re: Rear diff required - Melbourne Australia
Thanks Guys. Matt, I almost cried when I saw that ad on Gumtree in Ipswich. If only he had been in Victoria or even NSW, I would've taken the lot. But I don't fancy driving 2 days there with a trailer and 2 days back. I have checked a few wreckers, but no luck so far. I have bought stuff from Grants...

Re: Rear diff required - Melbourne Australia
Hi dlb, unfortunately no. I don't have the original gearbox. Gottolovem, is it just the diff or the whole axle assembly? How much would like for it? I'm not in a hurry for it. Maybe sending it by boat (at my expense of course) instead of airfreight might be cheaper. I just want to re-store the car t...

Rear diff required - Melbourne Australia
Hi Guys, I'm looking for a rear diff with 4.1 ratio. I replaced the manual transmission a few years ago, but my Tercel is 83 with the lower ratio. I had to disconnect the link between the 4WD lever and gearbox.

Re: Checking a 4AC engine out of the car
Yes, it does spin nicely when I turn it by hand. I was thinking of doing a leakdown test on each cylinder to check for leakages at the rings, valves and cylinder head gasket as a starting point but to check the conditions of other engine components would require dismantling the engine.

Checking a 4AC engine out of the car
Does any body have any suggestions on how to check an engine that is not fitted inside a car? Last year I bought a secondhand 4AC engine cheap that I was told was recently reconditioned. I was planning to put it in my T4wd in the future, but I'm reluctant in case it is a dud.

I know this an old thread, but I cleaned my EGR this weekend. I used oven cleaner and it worked. The hardest part was cleaning the small metal tube screwed to the egr

Re: Clunking sounds when shifting
But it's not cheap though, around Aust $90 + 10% tax. They have a rubber ring between two steel rings. The inner ring has a coating (teflon I would say, like DU bushes).

Toyota, in Australia, still have them.
