it was steeper than 30% and I was almost at the top when it would just bog and want to stall out in 4WD. I had to carefully reverse and slip into a driveway so I would have the front-end pointing down on the descent, but my friend thought I was going to roll it over, but I was positive I wouldn't. ...

Found a road in Bremerton, Wa. today that's 15 degrees (Farragut Ave)(about 33% grade)
would not want to start from a stop on it while going uphill
so when i stopped to measure the angle the car was pointing downhill

Recently I was driving the Tercel up a steep hill and got to wondering “What is the angle of a steep hill?” Some hills have a sign stating the grade, such as “14% Grade” but what angle is that? not seating properly. Also, the old needle seat had a filter built in to the inlet side, the Napa rebuild lit seat does not have filter. that mess sure looks like antifreeze
did you remove the water pump?
if that is whats leaking you need a new "O" ring between the pump housing and the block

you can separate the throwout yourself find something round like a large socket that is just a little bit smaller than the inside diameter of the bearing and use it to knock the thing out. i do it on a vise the pilot can be removed with a small slide puller made for the job or you can force it out b...

watch out at the dealers they have a jacked up price and if you complain they will lower it by a third but it will still be way too much

also check the 17mm bolt that connects the metal fuel line at the carb

my windshield has been leaking

i priced a new windshield today at a local glass shop

FW448 242.00 total installed or glass only 130.00 (do it yourself)

might do it if i cannot stop the leaking soon

you really only need to disconect the lower ball joint (remove two 14mm bolts) i also disconnect the tie rod (cotter pin and 17mm nut) use big screwdriver between tranny and inboard end of CV axle to pop CV free of tranny then slide a crowbar over the control arm (thats what the ball joint was attac...
