Re: '84 DLX 2WD wagon added to wrecking yard in Rocklin, CA on 11/3/2021

I wouldn't count on it- only '83 and '84 SR5s had inclinometers, and ALL SR5s were M/T and 4WD (at least in the U.S.)

Re: replacing 12v outlet

Should be a 15amp fuse in the driver's side kickpanel fuse box. Does the lighter or surrounding panel appear melted?

Re: Need help with 1982 CV axle

Just an FYI- the drive axles for your '82 are of the same design as our cars (maybe different length/dimensions?) Thirty plus years ago, I had an '82 with a split outer boot, and stupidly took the outer joint apart- still couldn't get the new boot on (inner part of the joint was too big a diameter f...

Re: Rims

I really like my 14" Miata "daisies"- run 'em on all 3 of my road-legal Tercel wagons. Center hole is the same diameter as our cars, offset is good, they have steel inserts for the wheel lugs, and there's just enough clearance at the brake caliper. My 4WD cars are great with 185/70 Mi...

Oops- just re-read your post- I don't have the fuel pickups- just the gauge sending units. Sorry!

I may have one- do you know the # of teeth on the gear and the overall length? Also, where are you located?

Re: WHAT TOYOTA ANYWHERE COULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY...

Torque steer is caused by different length left and right front drive axles- the greater the difference, the more prevalent the condition. Our cars' axle lengths are much closer L&R than most early transverse engine vehicles. Later transverse vehicles added a support bearing ass'y to the longer ...

Re: Member Profiles

Can't speak for anyone else, but I for one love 'em. My "good" car (which had been sitting in a dead woman's driveway for 10 plus years before I rescued it) has been garage kept for the last 8 or so years and NEVER goes out when the snow and salt are on the roads. I also converted it from ...

Might want to get a Club too. Can't believe it got stolen- came from the factory with the best anti-theft device already installed for today's thieves (M/T.)

Re: 1983 Gold Tercel 4WD wagon, manual Minneapolis

I think it's the mounting bracket for the after-market cruise control driveshaft speed sensor. You can see the actuator just under the wiper motor. (Only reason I know this is decades ago, I installed a bunch of kits in various cars- including a then-new T4.)

Re: 1983 T4WD car plus massive parts

Although I should add- one of the tagged & insured is a FWD A/T as is one of the other runners, so I guess they don't really count??
