I have it in my signature for Club 4AG. I don't visit much anymore though. With gas at over $1 and rising, I'm not so inclined to swap to an engine that requires premium.

A jolt with the gas pedal can work wonders getting out of 4WD. My corolla wagon came with one tire that's different from the rest, and it has electronic differential lock so you can't even try pushing harder on the shift lever. I need new tires.

You can torch the rubber and get it and the inside sleeve out, then use a hammer and chisel on the outside part. The new one can be pressed in with a hammer and a close fitting socket. These methods are difficult and might not work for you. I would reccommend trying to find a small machine shop who ...

I disconnected the EGR valve and that made it better. So now I'm asking myself is the EGR going on too much or is it some other problem that makes the engine extremely sensitive to EGR? What does EGR really do for us anyway? I've heard the engine can run too hot without it, but isn't running with a ...

Gear whine is pretty normal in these. I wouldn't be worried just yet. But do make sure you have good clean oil in there.

I'm not, that's why I kept my european headlights and clear corners, ae86 Corolla GT-S steering wheel, A/C button and original cruise control switch. I'm just getting rid of the crap Tercels I have now because I know I'll never work on them.

There is no hole going from the part the shifter goes into down into the transmission. The hole is filled by the shifter shaft which goes into the tranny and actuates the shift forks. I guess if that bushing was really loose from being worn out, some gear oil would eventually leak down there. But it...

I'm clearing my inventory - for the most part. Keeping my european H4 composite headlights and clear corners, and other rarities in case I find another wagon some day. I'll be selling an 86 with automatic and near rust-free body with a dent in the rearend but restoreable condition - no rust holes, g...

It fixed itself, for now at least. You're right - troubleshooting EFI is easier. I checked the ECU and found only the normal code, and verified that the air/fuel correction factor is normal and it's running in closed loop with the O2 sensor swinging its voltage at least 8 times in 10 seconds at 2500...

Congratulations on the 30 mpg. Others haven't had such luck with their rebuilds, so it seems.

A word of advice, 3A-C's sound like crap with a loud exhaust. I'm just warning you.

I separate the front diff and bellhousing from the transmission and put them on one at a time. That way no excessive force is needed.

Plug wires are fine and there's no sign of oil in there. Plugs themselves look great too. It only seems to screw up at low throttle either cruising or gently accelerating. It's fine when I step on it, but for practical reasons I can't step on it all the time.
