Re: Plastic Connector/Coupling For Rear Wiper Linkage Arm?

I could use an old connector as an example. Even if it's broken or worn, it could serve as a good starting point to take measurements to create a solidworks model from. From there, I can take the solidworks CAD model and process it for use in a 3D printer. There's different types of plastics, but AB...

2017 Raleigh, NC Snow..

Swapped the front 13" VX rims on my Civic with some 14" Bottlecaps I had laying around with some old/used Firestone winterforce tires before today's "snow". http://www.brentroad.com/photos/00534634.jpg Amature Hour over here with only about 1" of snow. The Tercel's tie rods ...

Re: Hello from North Carolina!

I forgot to mention, the muffler fell off. Literally. So I'm going to head out to LKQ and see about picking up an OEM muffler from some car out there for $15. Can't beat OEM quality or the affordable pricing from a local pick and pull. Will likely have to get an adapter from the factory 1.75" p...

Re: 3 front axle seals, and it still leaks

I received my axle seals the other day. These were the ones I found online. Looks like they were the last 2 from Beck/Arnley (P/N 052-3281). Rock Auto, Advanced Auto, O'rielly's all said they had only 2 available and it would be a special order, so I guess they were all pointing to the same inventor...

Re: Plastic Connector/Coupling For Rear Wiper Linkage Arm?

Seems like we have an opportunity to maybe get some dimensions/specs on the plastic part and maybe 3D print some replacements. I have a nice 3D printer at work. We can try to use an external E clip maybe in a redesign? Any thoughts on this Highlander, DLB, or Archinstl?

Re: Wiper blade recommendation.

3-6 month replacement blades? sounds like junk. Sorry; you might have misread my comment. I was restating typical service intervals for wipers. Kind of like how some cars have 25k mile service intervals for tie rods. Sure they may not work as well as new, but they aren't bad enough to be a safety r...

Re: Wiper blade recommendation.

I usually rock auto mine and try to stick with Bosche or Trico. For the price of a set at Advance Auto or walmart, I can usually get 3 or 4 good sets shipped from rock auto, which usually last me 2-3 years. Apparently, you're supposed to replace wipers around ever 3-6 months anyways... I go until th...

Re: Parts parts parts

There's a guy local to me that's parting out an 84 tercel. I'll find out more details.

Personally, I'm interested in the SR5 gauge cluster. Would love to have a tach for the right price. :)

Re: 86 fwd to 4wd conversion.

Ohh fancy tach. Sorry to derail, but is the tachometer cluster a "drop in"? All I have is the speedo, not that I need the tach, but it would be a "nice have" I figure I'd have to piggy back the signal wire for the tach to the distributor or how does the factory tach operate?

Re: Hello from North Carolina!

Changed out the transmission fluid with some standard GL5 stuff. Shifts noticeably better, but the 2nd gear synchro is still worn out (nothing double clutching doesn't fix). Did a good once over on the car. Other than front tie rods and struts, the car is in pretty good shape. The bushings are old b...
